Third Party Certification Electrical Installations

Barbour Consulting Limited specialise in the certification of electrical installations as carried out by third party contractors in conjunction with compliance to the appropriate edition of BS7671 IEE wiring regulations being the UK national standard - 17th edition Amendment 1 - for installations designed after 31st December 2011.

We achieve certification by carrying out a visual inspection supplemented with appropriate measurement & testing of the related electrical installation at first fix stage in order to verify the installation method, quality of materials used & compliance with design criterea.

Upon completion of the installation we carry out a final visual inspection plus thorough measurement & testing to the entire related electrical installation in order to issue the appropriate completion certificate being  signed by Southern Electrical Testing Ltd for the "Inspection & Testing" subject to satisfactory test results & final inspection with the appropriate persons &/or organisations signing for the "Design & Construction".

We are fully conversant with the requirements of "The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989" being the "Statutory" requirement requiring precautions to be taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity in or associated with work activities, plus all relevant requirements of "The Building Regulations 2000".

We can provide basic advice on-site or produce a complete design specification - additional fee applicable, enabling us to sign the "Design" declaration on the final completion certificate.

Unfortunately we are unable to issue an NICEIC completion certificate as these certificates are reserved for installations constructed by registered contractors, our fee for the above service currently stands at £48.00 per hour, including office based report production with a combined minimum fee of £225.00 per site visit - travelling time plus expenses will be charged as appropriate from our Gatwick or Norwich office as appropriate. Longer term contacts attract our external (site based) daily rate of £425.00 plus expenses incurred (Subsistence, parking, congestion etc).
